PhD
Meng Wei
Meng is a PhD student in the EPSRC CDT in Smart Medical Imaging at King’s College London and Imperial College London, supervised by Prof. Tom Vercauteren and Dr. Miaojing Shi. Meng received her undergraduate degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Liverpool in 2020, followed by a Master’s degree focused on medical images, artificial intelligence, and medical robotics at Imperial College London in 2021. Her project is on Semi-supervised detection and tracking of instruments for robotic surgery guidance, and her research interests include deep learning, medical imaging computing, and computer vision.
PhD
Tiarna Lee
Miss Tiarna Lee received her MEng in Biomedical Engineering from King’s College London in 2021. During her studies, she worked on modelling ultrasound wave propagation when using microbubbles and the quantitative measurement of inhomogeneous magnetisation transfer parameters in brain MR images using artificial intelligence (AI). Her MEng project focussed on the classification of the season of conception of infants by AI using the children’s facial landmarks. She is currently a PhD student under the supervision of Dr Andrew King and Dr Miaojing Shi. Her PhD project is focussed on researching racial and gender biases in AI-based segmentation and classification tools.
Post-doctoral Fellow
Yingyue Xu
Dr. Yingyue Xu is a post-doc research fellow at Fudan University, China. She is also a joint project researcher at Zhuhai Fudan Innovation Institute in Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, China. Before that She received he Doctor degree on Computer Science and Technology in University of Oulu, Finland. Her research fields mainly include semantic segmentation, object detection, and few-shot learning.
Post-doctoral Fellow
Hamed Amini
Dr. Hamed Aminiamirkolaei is a post-doc research fellow at Kings College London. Before that he received his Ph.D. in Photogrammetry from the University of Tehran, Iran. His research fields mainly include point cloud processing, DSM filtering, semantic segmentation, and image translation.
PhD
Oluwatosin Alabi
Tosin received his master's degree from the University College London in Robotics and Computation at the University College London in 2020. Tosin followed this with an Erasmus Mundus Masters Program in Image Processing and Computer Vision at three partner universities in Hungary, Spain and France. Tosin's master's project was on fetoscopic mosaicking using deep learned optical flow fields. He is currently a PhD student in the EPSRC CDT in Smart Medical Imaging at King's College London, supervised by Dr Miaojing Shi and Prof. Tom Vercauteren. Tosin's PhD project exploits multi-task learning for endoscopic vision in robotic surgery.
PhD
Iman Islam
Iman received her BEng in Biomedical Engineering from King's College London (KCL) in 2022. The BEng project focused on retrospectively correcting motion artefacts in CMR images using AI, supervised by Dr Sebastien Roujol and Alexander Neofytou. She is currently on the EPSRC Smart Medical Imaging CDT programme, completing an MRes in Healthcare Technology at KCL in preparation for her PhD project which is supervised by Dr Andrew King and Dr Miaojing Shi. Her PhD project centres around assessing cardiac function from echocardiogram images using AI.
PhD
Xinyue Chen
Xinyue is a Ph.D. student supervised by Dr. Miaojing Shi at VisCom Lab, King’s College London. Before her Ph.D., Xinyue received her B.Eng. degree and M.S. degree in Electronics and Information Engineering from Sichuan University in 2019 and 2022, respectively. She studied crowd counting during her M.S. degree, and is now working on few-shot semantic segmentation. Her research interests include computer vision and deep learning.
